Notes
- More mature babies often need higher dose
- pH is 6 to 8.5
Preparation
- Can be administered undiluted or can be diluted.
- Slow IV injection over 60 seconds, followed by slow IV flush of 2mL 0.9% sodium chloride.
- If needed, dose can be repeated once (maximum 2 doses per 24 hour period).
- Propofol must NOT be administered via a microbiological filter (filters with a pore size less than 5μm).
