Additional points

Warning

The main points that have come up from the use of this are:

  • Ensure complete resolution of symptoms - a few people have been admitted as a TIA that had on going symptoms and missed possible treatment.
  • Anyone with AF in TIA should be admitted, no matter what their ABCD2 score is.  As well as those who had symptoms lasting over an hour or who are already on dual antiplatelet therapy.  Otherwise admit people with an ABCD2 >=4
  • A STOPS test is required for all patients who are ?Stroke or TIA
  • Be cautious of fluctuating symptoms, this may be a symptom of a basilar artery stroke.  The fluctuation can lead to delayed diagnosis and increased mortality.
