This toolkit applies to all NHSGGC staff in all locations. It sets out the process to be followed when developing or updating policies, both clinical and non-clinical, and introducing these within the organisation.

The toolkit  also extends to procedures and guidelines that act as implementation tools for policies and are contained within their appendices.

Policies have been added as pdfs.  All policies will have a mandatory EQIA.  Alternative formats can be requested via the NMAHP Business Support Team: ggc.nmahpbusinesssupport@nhs.scot 

Review and sign-off of content at time of initial publication and review and sign-off of initial delivery of the content via the RDP: Strategic Policy Oversight Committee (SPOC) will approve from a professional perspective, NMAHP Business Team will then upload.   

Proposing updates and signing off proposals for updates to content out with scheduled review dates and review and sign-off for updates to content out with scheduled review dates: SPOC would be contacted and when approval given, updates would be published. 

Determining review dates: Review dates will be set by authors of policies (policy leads).  

Receiving automated alerts from RDP when content is due for review and ensuring this takes place in a timely manner: Alerts will be sent to NMAHP Business Support Team email, who would action.

Re-use of content from the nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals policy platform for any purpose outside of NHSGGC is strictly prohibited this includes but is not limited to re-use/ upload on any website other than the Right Decision Service without a grant of permission from NHSGGC.

Policies have been written and reviewed as per NHSGGC policy governance. 

The toolkit was signed off by the Strategic Policy Oversight Committee, which will oversee the ongoing development of the toolkit.
