Speech & Language Therapy aims to provide a high quality, evidence based service that is responsive to and meets the needs of children and young people, who experience speech, language, communication or swallowing difficulties.
We work in partnership with families and with other professionals and agencies to reduce the impact of these difficulties on children’s wellbeing and their ability to participate in daily life.
The focus is on supporting children and young people to maximise their ability to communicate and participate in their daily life in education, at home and in their community. We strive to support children and young people to reach their full potential. We seek to support the child/young person and/or their parents/carers to confidently self-manage their communication.
We offer services in a range of locations including community clinics, schools, other venues in the community and in the patient’s home as appropriate to the child’s and family’s needs.
