Diabetic foot risk stratification systems

Warning

The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) and the National Institute for Health England (NICE) advocate the use of foot screening for the Diabetic population. Regular foot screening and appropriate action have been shown to positively influence longterm outcomes for patients.

Foot risk stratification tools assist in determining the level of care and input required when treating the diabetic foot. In the UK, risk categories are based on the SCI-Diabetes risk stratification tool.
