Evidence base

The information contained in this toolkit was underpinned by specific systematic literature reviews of the current best evidence available. Comprehensive literature reviews on common musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions have been undertaken and CASP system used to grade evidence-based recommendations.

The contents and governance of this toolkit is the responsibility of the Fife Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Oversight Group.

Content review

The MSK Physiotherapy Oversight Group holds responsibility for review and sign-off of updates to the toolkit.

Information contained within this toolkit will be reviewed and updated every two years from the date of first issue.

Governance sign-off and ongoing development

The content of this toolkit has been signed off by the MSK Physiotherapy Oversight group This group is lead by a Consultant Physiotherapist and senior members of the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Fife wide team who report directly to the Professional Head of Physiotherapy in NHS Fife and Fife Health and Social Care partnership, and meets every month.

The MSK Physiotherapy Oversight Group will also oversee any ongoing development of the toolkit.

The toolkit has been risk assessed, and mitigations put in place where required.
