Question: what is paediatric physiotherapy?

Answer:

This is provided by Physiotherapists who have chosen to work with children. The Physiotherapist will assess your child's muscles and joints and how they move, then draw up a programme if required and also advise and support family / carers. The Paediatric Physiotherapy Service sees children from birth through to end of secondary school education.

Question: how do I get physiotherapy for my child?

Answer:

This usually through your hospital consultant, local doctor, health visitor or by completing our form for assistance.

Where will my child be seen?

Answer:

Your child may be seen at home, play-group, nursery, school, local clinic or soft therapy area.

What will be expected of me as a parent / carer?

Answer:

Should your child require a physiotherapy programme, you will shown how to carry this out and will be expected to continue it at home between visits from the physiotherapist.

How often will my child be seen?

Answer:
