Answer:

This is provided by Physiotherapists who have chosen to work with children. The Physiotherapist will assess your child's muscles and joints and how they move, then draw up a programme if required and also advise and support family / carers. The Paediatric Physiotherapy Service sees children from birth through to end of secondary school education.

This usually through your hospital consultant, local doctor, health visitor or by completing our form for assistance.

Your child may be seen at home, play-group, nursery, school, local clinic or soft therapy area.

Should your child require a physiotherapy programme, you will shown how to carry this out and will be expected to continue it at home between visits from the physiotherapist.

As often as necessary. It may vary from visit only to more regular visits. In some cases, your child may require a review in an orthotic clinic for footwear, etc.

With your agreement, relevant information will be shared with those involved in your child's care.

  6. rehabilitation following trauma / surgery / infection
