Oral candidiasis

CKS: Candida - oral

Topical azoles more effective than topical nystatin. Oral candidiasis rare in immunocompetent adults; consider undiagnosed risk factors including HIV. Fluconazole if extensive/severe candidiasis; if HIV or immunosuppression use 100mg.
