Introduction

Warning

In Year 1, you were taught the importance of psycho-social factors to medical practice generally, and in Year 3, you were introduced to key psychiatric and psychological topics (see Learning Guides for Years 1 to 3). Before beginning the block, you should ensure that you are familiar with the information taught previously. This knowledge will be assumed.

In Year 4, you will be taught fundamentals of the practice of clinical psychiatry, especially assessment and management skills. This will build on the year 3 learning objectives. During the first week, you will receive some clinical teaching and be introduced to psychiatric sub-specialties. Thereafter you will have opportunities for a range of clinical experiences.

Hopefully you find the resources in this app helpful. Please contact us if there are any further resources that we can provide on this platform to aid in your training. Please note that further resources are available through MyMBChB.
