If you are living with kidney disease and have had a significant change in your existing condition or been diagnosed with another long-term condition, you should get your entitlement to benefits checked by contacting your nearest Support & Information Service, who will make a referral to a money advice service.

Contact: sis@ggc.scot.nhs.uk (generic e-mail) or speak to your kidney nurse specialist or dialysis nurse, for further information.

The benefits system can be quite complicated and doesn't lend itself to concise information as there are a number of different benefits, and differing eligibility for each one.

There is some benefits information on Kidney Care UK and other kidney support websites, however some of those don't mention Adult Disability Payment, which is now replacing PIP in Scotland.
