The prescriber should ensure that the rails meet the appropriate safety standards and comply with measurements for acceptable gaps/heights.

The gap between the mattress and the top of the rail needs to be greater than or equal to 220mm.

Note: a) without compressing the mattress b) include any overlay, specialised mattress or turning system.

The height of the Bed Safety Rails can be extended with height extension side rails, as shown in the image below. Contact your equipment store for the appropriate height extension.
