Definition of high risk of GC: known contact with GC, client is a sex worker or victim of assault, partner from outside the UK or sex occurred overseas with a new partner.

STI risk factors:

  • Aged under 25.
  • History of STIs.
  • Recent new partner.
  • Multiple partners  within the past 12 months.
  • STI contact [see in PN Pathway ‘Asymptomatic contact of CT and or GC (non pregnant)’].

Routine testing includes serology for HIV, syphilis, +/- hepatitis. SH D&G accept no responsibility when flowchart is used outside SH D&G.
