The Older Adult Psychology service accepts referrals for adults aged 65 and above presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties such as depression, trauma and anxiety.

This service is suitable for those older adults who are motivated and able to engage in a psychological approach to their difficulties.

If any referral is deemed to be more suitable for assessment via the Community Mental Health Team we will arrange this transfer and will write to the referrer to update.

The Older Adult Psychology Service also works as part of the local Memory Assessment Pathway to provide neuropsychological assessment for the purpose of supporting diagnosis of dementia.

All suspected dementia cases must initially be referred via the Memory Assessment Pathway:

Referrals are accepted from any health or social care professional involved in a patients care where consent has been obtained.

Primary care staff can refer via SCI Gateway...Mountainhall...Clinical Psychology...Psychology and select Older adults
