Occupational Therapists, also referred to as OT’s, work with people of all ages to help them overcome the effects of disability caused by physical or psychological illness, accident or ageing, to enable them to lead full and satisfying lives as independently as possible.

Occupational Therapists are trained health professionals who use purposeful activity to treat patients working on their physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing. Individual programmes are designed to help patients to carry out everyday activities to maximise independence in all areas of daily life.

We provide an Occupational Therapy Service to adults within Acute & Community settings. Occupational Therapists are also employed within NHS Borders Mental Health & Learning Disabilities, Children & Young People’s Service and Adult Social Care.
