Glasgow City Youth Health Service is a confidential health and wellbeing service, specifically for young people aged 12-19 years in Glasgow City.

Need help with a mental health crisis?

If you are upset and having thoughts and urges about hurting yourself, someone else or ending your life then stop, take a deep breath and read this:

A crisis is any situation in which you feel you need urgent help. For example, you might feel in crisis if:

  • You are having suicidal thoughts and feelings
  • You are having thoughts about harming yourself or someone else
  • You have seriously hurt yourself

Call 999 or attend your nearest Emergency Department

You feel you are at risk of harm or your mental wellbeing is rapidly deteriorating

Call NHS 24 on 111, who will advise you how to present to hospital for assessment, if required

If you feel you need support with your mental health and are not experiencing an urgent crisis Speak to your GP about referral to Mental Health Services locally (Community CAMHS).

Worried about you, or a friend's, drug or alcohol use?

Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services offer open access to all and therefore receive referrals from a wide range of services but also welcome self-referrals, either through drop in or by telephone.

They provide a range of care and treatment options for people living in Glasgow affected by drugs and/or alcohol and have a youth worker for each area. Contact phone numbers for each area are available by clicking here.

We are with you is a confidential website in which live chat is available weekdays 9am-9pm and weekends 10-4pm where you can reach out and talk in confidence.

In the first instance this can provide a safe space where you are listened to, and supported with, concerns in relation to drugs/alcohol; as well as helping support you to link in with local Young Persons teams for ongoing support, if required.
