What We Do

We are an independent Scottish charity who give parents and care givers a place to stay while their seriously ill child is in hospital. Children come from all over Scotland and further afield to receive treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. Many need emergency treatment and can end up very far from home for weeks or months at a time. We help keep families together by providing free, high quality accommodation, only a few minutes walk from the hospital.

We have 31 ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen and laundry facilities. Families can eat, sleep and focus on the most important thing – the health of their child.

Our child is being admitted to the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. How do we get a room at the House?

If you would like to be considered for a room in Crossbasket House Glasgow, you must ask the hospital staff to refer you to us. Once your child has been admitted to hospital, the Clerk on the ward can complete a referral form which is then sent to us. The House staff will contact the ward to advise whether a room is/or is not available for you on this occasion. If a room is available, a check-in appointment time will be given.
