Warning

The neonatal unit is open to parents and siblings of babies at all times, 24/7.

Your extended adult family (no children, sorry) can visit between the hours of 12pm and 7pm but a parent must be present and only two people, including the parent, should be at the cot side at any one time.

If anyone has a high temperature, cold symptoms, diarrhoea or vomiting, or are generally feeling unwell they should not come to the neonatal unit.

Access to the unit

The neonatal unit is accessed via a secure buzzer entry system. There are entrances on both level 1 (Intensive Care Unit) and level 2 (Special Care Baby Unit).

If your baby is likely to be admitted for an extended period of time we will provide parents with fingerprint access to allow easier entry to the unit. Please speak to your baby’s nurse to allow this to be arranged with our ward clerkess.

Please ensure that the door closes fully behind you and do not let anyone else enter at the same time.
