Paediatric Orthopaedic
NHS Lanarkshire has a dedicated Paediatric Orthopaedic service running within the Orthopaedic department. In order for your referral to reach us in a timely manner please direct all SCI Referrals to Orthopaedics rather than Paediatric Surgery or Paediatrics. Referrals will be redirected but it may cause an unnecessary delay for us to receive the referral.
There are some very common conditions that may be termed normal variants or conditions that we know settle with time. For some of these conditions we may either redirect your referral to the Paediatric Physiotherapy service or send the parents/guardian, as well as the referrer, some information about conditions that require no further treatment. The following guides are some information on these normal variants, and other common conditions, that provide information on what to expect and when to refer.
