Disclosure to Health Care Professional (HCP)
Treat any immediate concerns or medical conditions requiring attention or make necessary arrangements for this
Time since assault
Referral options:
Discuss options and what to expect. Give information or advice about available support e.g. Health board Gender Based Violence service (if available) or Rape Crisis Scotland.

Refer to section: 7 days or less since the assault

Direct referral
If HCP knows how to contact local SARCS directly
Self-referral via NHS 24
Self-referral phone service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 0800 148 8888. HCP can provide assisted self-referral
Person should be given information or advice about available support
HCP will liaise with SARCS staff regarding next steps
NHS 24 will send the referral to the SARCS
Police will arrange an appointment with the SARCS
