Diagnostic Tips

  • Slow growing over months to years
  • History of non-healing and bleeding
  • Majority occur on head and neck but any part of body can be affected
  • Skin coloured with pearly rolled edge (stretching the skin can often accentuate the pearly edges)
  • Central crust or erosion
  • Less common variants include pigmented and morphoeic
